Hosts Charlamagne the God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy held a radiothon entitled "Change4Change" from 6am to midnight yesterday at our NYC Headquarters to raise money for The Gathering of Justice, a nonprofit originally founded by Harry Belafonte to help fund the civil rights movements of the 60's. Today, this organization is the main fiscal backing of movements such as The Women's March, Colin Kaepernick's Know Your Rights Camp, the NYC Justice League and more!
Some pretty amazing moments were made during the radiothon, such as when Nick Cannon just dropped $20k in cash in donation, Will.I.Am called to originally donate $20,000 then called back and upped it to $50,000. DJ Khaled and his son Asahd called to pledge $51,000 - and Diddy topped them all with a whopping $100,000 in donations. But at the end of the day - it was SNL musical guest this week, Eminem who dropped $150,000 to the telethon in the name of his foundation, The Marshall Mathers Foundation!
