Disneyland’s Jungle Cruise is getting ready to set sail into a new adventure. The Walt Disney company just announced that the attraction will be embarking on a new course in order to make the ride feel more inclusive and less racially insensitive when it comes to its depiction of other cultures. The new backstory will be about an
"excursion of explorers including an entomologist, a bird watcher, wildlife painter, and a skipper set off into the jungle. Reports have reached the dock that their boat may have sunk. Of course, you are sent off to rescue them and find out what happened. Along the way, we’ll spot the unlucky party run up a pole by an angry Rhino. Just past the hippo pool, their boat has washed ashore. A playful, if goofy, group of chimps has assumed the roles of the various adventurers."
There will be many changes both large and small coming to the attraction that hasn't been released yet, but we will all learn about them later this year. One thing that will definitely stay the same are all of those goofy jokes and animal puns you've grown to love. You can get an idea of what the updated attraction will look like below:
