Future brides and grooms who have a wedding coming up in south-central Texas, beware. Police in the state are searching for a woman they’ve dubbed “The Wedding Crasher” after she allegedly showed up as an uninvited wedding guest and then stole thousands of dollars in gifts. And she didn’t just do it once, authorities report she’s ripped off at least half a dozen newlyweds.
According to the Comal County Sheriff’s Office, the female suspect sneaks into wedding receptions dressed as a wedding guest and then steals envelopes full of cash, checks, and gift cards. They say she’s ripped off weddings in Comal County and surrounding counties and a $4,000 reward is being offered to help catch “The Wedding Crasher.”
Investigators say they’ve received video surveillance footage from several stores showing the woman using the allegedly stolen gift cards. The Sheriff’s office is asking for help identifying the suspect and says, “Let’s not let her ruin anyone else’s special day and let’s bring this crasher to justice.”
