Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Made A Rare Public Appearance In Los Angeles

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a rare public appearance in Los Angeles this week.

Though the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have kept a pretty low profile since moving to the United States earlier this year, they've stepped out together on a few special occasions over the past couple of months. Harry and Meghan were spotted delivering meals to the underprivileged on behalf of Project Angel Food back in April, as well as volunteering with Homeboy Industries in June. Their latest public appearance, unsurprisingly, was also in service of a good cause.

On Wednesday (August 19), Harry and Meghan participated in a drive-through charity event hosted by Baby2Baby. According to People, the Sussexes "helped distribute school supplies, books, backpacks, clothing, food, hygiene items and more to those in need as children prepare for the new school year." They both donned face masks and gloves as they helped hand out the school supplies.

"Baby2Baby was proud to host a drive-through distribution at Knox Elementary in South LA as students across the country return to distance learning this week," Baby2Baby wrote on Instagram alongside a series of photos of Harry and Meghan lending a helping hand. "Thank you to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex for joining our team to help us distribute school supplies, clothing, hygiene items, food and more to children who need these basic essentials more than ever during this unprecedented back to school season."

Norah Weinstein and Kelly Sawyer Patricof, founders and co-presidents of Baby2Baby, shared their excitement about Harry and Meghan's involvement with People. "We were thrilled and overwhelmed at the support," Weinstein said. "We believe that the fact that the Duchess is from Los Angeles was what prompted her to highlight L.A., where Baby2Baby is based. We felt particularly grateful that she was highlighting an American organization."
