Looks like Ariana Grande will be having a quieter New Year's weekend than originally planned as the pop star has canceled her performance in Las Vegas.
Grande was set to perform the show — her first since breaking off her engagement to Pete Davidson — at The Chelsea, which is located in The Cosmopolitan hotel on the strip on Saturday, December 29th. But, due to illness, the pop star has revealed she will not be taking the stage. According to PEOPLE, Ari has come down with a case of bronchitis.
On her Instagram stories, Ari wrote her fans a message regarding the canceled concert. She said, "Vegas, I'm currently working through some health issues and am beyond sorry I won't be able to see you this weekend. I love you and so look forward to seeing you and making it up to you next year."
She added, "Love you the most. You're so funny sometimes man. Thank you for your patience. I will make it worth the wait."
There has been no mention of another show happening in place of Ari's concert yet, but in a statement on their website, The Cosmo also shared of the cancellation, "Due to unforeseeable health reasons, Ariana Grande has cancelled her Dec. 29 show at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. For a full refund, please contact your point of purchase."
Since her breakup with Pete Davidson, Ari has performed twice; on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and during the Billboard Woman of the Year event in New York City, where she was honored as 2018's recipient of the award.
The New Year is shaping up to be big for Ariana, as fans are awaiting the release of her new album thank u, next. Grande is also set to go on her headlining world tour in support of her 2018 sweetener album, which kicks off on March 28, 2019 in Albany, New York.
